Welcome to the most unique global geopark in the world. This is the only desert geopark at present, and was accepted as a member of the Global Geoparks Network in 2009. As you step inside the geopark, you enter an ocean of sand. You can scale the heights of the highest sand peaks in the world and listen to songs of the sand (a kind of resonance effect that occurs in sand); you can discover deep, enchanting valleys and desert oases. You can walk through the gorgeous golden Populus forest; and you can explore mysterious ancient cities.
