On January 4, 2020, Joint Discussion and Co-construction of Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark Forum 2020 was held.  Participants were from local governments, geopark administration, culture tourism companies, neighborhood committees and other stakeholders of Alxa Desert UGGp.   They had a discussion on the construction and management plans of Geopark cooperation in the future.

During the meeting, Administration for Alxa Desert UGGp firstly explained the significance of global geopark construction, which focus on the geoheritage conservation and sustainable development, then exchanged and discussed Alxa DUGGp construction development ideas, such as educational activities, sustainable tourism development, promoting indigenous culture etc. with participants.

Administration for Alxa Desert UGGp also shared domestic and overseas successful cases of geopark community cooperation as well as the current international and domestic situations.  

Finally, participants expressed that they will fully support and participate in the construction development of Alxa Desert UGGp. Everyone believed that under such cooperation model, the community economy will increase and residents will get more benefits, Alxa DUUGp will be better.
