In order to realize the green development concept, to apply scientific research achievements and to help poverty alleviation through science technology, the training course “Technology of Haloxylon ammodendron superior tree seed orchard, protection and utilization of desert plant resources in Alxa” was held by Administration for Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark and Forestry and Grassland Bureau of Alxa League from May 21st to 22nd.  There were more than 200 trainees, local farmers and herdsmen participating in the training activity in Badain Jaran desert.

During the 2-days learning, the participants have not only learnt advanced skills, but also learnt geoscience knowledge of where they were living for generations via the visit to Alxa Desert Global Geopark Museum and the hinterland of the desert.  There were over 300 copies of publicity materials distributed to the participants.  The training activities had a significant effect and participants and local farmers and herdsmen said they benefited a lot.
