Recently, Alxa Desert UGGp Museum was passed several evaluations, and eventually awarded the title of Popular Science Demonstration Base of the Autonomous Region.

The Museum was opened to public with zero commission since 2007, it has given full play to the functions of a Geopark Museum, such as "science popularization education, leisure tourism, geological research, publicity and display, knowledge exchange"etc., it was also awarded as popular science base for teenagers, tertiary education,general public for over 20 times.

On the aspect of Geopark Museum content, multimedia forms were widely used, such as graphic display boards, models, objects, videos and information systems to display the natural geography and social,cultural background, regional geological evolution history, distribution of main geo-heritages and geological landscape types, development of geological science, formation and evolution mechanism, scientific research history and research achievements of ADUGGp, animal and plant resources, historical and cultural landscape and folk customs etc., all of these can meet the different needs of visitors of different interests, knowledge and age levels.

On the aspect of popular science activities, it organized or co-hosted more than 24 study-research programs, over 2064 students and teachers of Alxa Youqi, and over 2058 students and teachers outside of Inner Mongolia had participated in these programs.  It fully connects school education, social education and family education, helps primary and secondary school students to further understand the Alxa Desert UGGp, so that every primary and secondary school student can firmly establish a deep love for his hometown - Alxa. 

To be awarded this honor is not only a responsibility, but also a driving force to move forward.
