On May 20th, Alxa Desert Global Geopark and Funiushan Global Geopark held a meeting on the construction and management of the geoparks in Bayanhaote, and officially established a sister-geopark relationship.
During the meeting, Deputy Director of the Alxa Desert Global Geopark Administration, Huhumijielu, introduced the geological formations, geopark construction, and management of the Alxa Desert Global Geopark to the Funiushan Global Geopark. The representative of Funiushan UGGp showcased a captivating promotional video of the mountainous beauty. Both parties engaged in discussions on topics of mutual interest and management methods, deepening the ideas of unity, mutual assistance, and shared development within Global Geoparks Network.
To formalize their cooperation mechanisms, Deputy Director of the Forest Bureau of Nanyang City, Henan Province, Yang Guang, and the Director of the Alxa Desert Global Geopark Administration, Huang Tiabin, signed a friendly cooperation agreement on behalf of their respective geoparks, officially establishing a sister-geopark relationship. Both parties expressed their intention to collaborate comprehensively in areas such as geoheritage protection and conservation, public education, geopark management, tourism promotion, and information technology construction. It is agreed to strengthening resource sharing and promoting the shared progress of the geoparks, aiming for high-quality and sustainable development.
