On November 23rd, the preliminary review meeting for "Alxa Desert Chronicles" (hereinafter referred to as "Chronicles") series of popular science books in the Alxa Desert UGGp was held at the Alxa Forestry and Grassland Bureau . Deputy Director Wang Xiaodong of the Party Committee of the Bureau , Director Huang Tianbing of the Alxa Desert UGGp Administration, the chief and deputy chief of the editorial board of "Chronicles", as well as members of the preliminary review group attended the meeting.

"Chronicles of the Great Desert" has taken nearly a year to edit, marking the first time the Alxa Desert UGGp Administration has systematically introduced the Alxa petroglyph resources, historical background, artistic characteristics, and cultural significance in a popular science format. This series is of great significance for showcasing the cultural spirit and value connotation of Alxa petroglyphs, promoting Chinese traditional culture, and enhancing cultural confidence.

During the meeting, the deputy chief of the editorial board for "Chronicles of the Great Desert" provided an overview of the initial drafting process. The members of the preliminary review team all agreed that the draft had a well-structured format, a reasonable chapter arrangement, substantial documentation, smooth language, accurate historical facts, and a clear display of its unique characteristics, and thus approved it for the preliminary review. Additionally, they offered suggestions for revisions in terms of the book's chapters, illustrations, and content.

Moving forward, the Alxa Desert UGGp Administration will organize a panel of experts to review and refine "Chronicles of the Great Desert". The goal is to produce a high-quality popular science book that will not only enrich the public's understanding but also significantly enhance the recognition and influence of the Alxa Desert UGGp brand. This endeavor aims to promote the high-quality development of the geopark’s science popularization and study tours.
