To mark the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network, the Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark Administration, in collaboration with the Alxa League Cultural Relics Protection and Research Center, organized a book donation ceremony for its newly published popular science series The history of Desert Rock Painting. The event took place on January 10–11 at the Alxa League Mongolian Middle School and the Inner Mongolia Normal University Affiliated Alxa Middle School.
During the ceremony, the Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark donated over 800 copies of The history of Desert Rock Painting and promotional materials. Additionally, experts delivered multimedia lectures on "The Wonders of Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark" and "An Overview of Alxa's Rock Art Heritage", introducing students to the region’s diverse geoheritage and cultural landscapes.
The history of Desert Rock Painting is part of a popular science series produced by the Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark Administration, based on years of research and cultural relics preservation efforts. Featuring vivid images and accessible explanations, the book showcases the lives of ancient nomadic peoples and explores the cultural significance of rock art. It aims to promote public awareness of petroglyphs, highlight the fusion of diverse cultures, and celebrate the richness of Chinese civilization. Through this initiative, the Geopark seeks to inspire youth to cherish their homeland, strengthen national identity, and share the unique stories of Alxa, contributing to the region’s ecological and cultural advancement.
