On October 16th, the grand opening ceremony of the second national "Hundred Artists Painting Ejina Populus Euphratica" event was held at the Heicheng-Ruoshui Populus Euphratica Scenic Area in Ejina Banner. Co-organized by the Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark Administration, the Ejina Banner Art Creation Base, and the Heicheng-Ruoshui Populus Euphratica Scenic Area, the event brought together nearly 100 outstanding artists from across the country.
Attending the ceremony were Huang Tianbing, Director of Alxa Desert Global Geopark Administration; Yang Jingyong, Chairman of the Heicheng-Ruoshui Populus Euphratica Scenic Area; Bao Xiang, Vice Chairman of Alxa League Artists Association; and representatives of the invited painters, all of whom delivered speeches.
Over the course of five days, the participating artists will capture the diverse beauty of the populus euphratica trees with their brushes and depict the breathtaking landscapes of Ejina through vibrant colors. The event aims to raise awareness of Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark, inviting more people to explore its vast deserts, discover the charm of its oasis, experience the historical grandeur of Heicheng, embrace the resilience embodied by the populus euphratica, and marvel at the achievements of China's aerospace endeavors—all while immersing themselves in the unique allure and cultural richness of the geopark.
This initiative is expected to further enhance Ejina's reputation and boost the development of its cultural and tourism industries. By integrating the geopark’s abundant geological and tourism resources with widely appreciated artistic expressions, the event seeks to deepen the fusion of geology and culture, elevate the geopark’s brand influence, and foster public appreciation for its conservation values.
