As the 29th World Wetlands Day approaches, Alxa League’s forestry and grassland departments launched a wetland conservation campaign from January 20 to 24 under the theme Protect Wetlands, Build a Shared Future. The initiative aimed to raise public awareness and encourage community participation in wetland protection.
The campaign featured diverse activities including: distributing 1,200 educational brochures,setting up 50 informational posters and 7 themed banners,hosting interactive sessions explaining the Wetland Protection Law of China in simple terms,highlighting wetlands' vital roles in water conservation, biodiversity, and climate change mitigation,organizing a wetland protection exhibition, showcasing conservation achievements. Over 3,600 people participated, gaining a deeper understanding of wetland protection laws and the importance of living in harmony with nature. The campaign strengthened public awareness of legal conservation efforts and promoted a mindset of respecting, adapting to, and protecting nature.
