On January 13, 2025, heavy snowfall blanketed Bayanhot in silver, creating picturesque scenery but also causing inconvenience for residents. To ensure safe travel and support the city’s efforts in becoming a National Hygienic City, the Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark Administration quickly mobilized its staff the next morning to help clear snow and ice in HePing Road Community—turning care into action.
Braving the freezing cold, the team worked enthusiastically with shovels and brooms in hand. Some cleared snow from roads, others removed icy patches from sidewalks, while a few focused on key areas like main streets and bus stops. Despite numb fingers and flushed faces, they kept working tirelessly to carve out safe pathways for residents. Passersby praised their efforts, appreciating not just the convenience but also they brought to the winter day, strengthening the bond between the Geopark and the community.
Through this initiative, the Geopark staff demonstrated teamwork and dedication, fulfilling their social responsibility while contributing to both community harmony and the city’s hygienic development goals.
