The 2020 Ejin Bicycle Race was held in the beautiful Ejin banner of Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark on October 8th. Nearly 1000 cyclists and athletes from all over the country rode in the magnificent desert and the gorgeous golden Populus forest.
The competition is divided into six groups based on the age and road difficulties, each is 60km long and lasts for one day.
In recent years, Ejin Banner in ADUGGp has been strengthening the construction of "international leisure tourism destination" and "national tourism demonstration destination". The Ejin Bicycle Race as the only cycling race around Populus forests and across deserts in China, is highly recognized by cyclists from all walks of life. Since 2016, it has successfully held 4 consecutive sessions, and gradually become Alxa's own brand competition. In 2019, it has been recognized as the national level competition.
Through the holding of the event, the integration of sports and tourism has been realized, the event system has been further improved, the event specifications have been further improved, and the brand influence has been further strengthened, which has promoted the development and construction for Ejin as a sports characteristic town, promoted the tourism resources and sports resources of Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark to the whole country, and promoted the national fitness development.
