To effectively prepare for the Earth Day 2023 science education promotion, the Alxa Desert Global Geopark has meticulously organized and implemented a multi-faceted approach, actively launching a series of Earth Day educational campaigns.

To thoroughly prepare for the 2023 Earth Day science education promotion, the Alxa Desert Global Geopark has meticulously organized a comprehensive strategy. This includes:

1. Launching an Earth Day promotional event at the Badain Jaran Desert, with significant support from the local municipal government and  forestry and grassland Bureau. The Geopark management and all staff from the districts participated in the event. Following the launch, the Geopark distributed field study passports to on-site visitors and primary school students, and conducted museum field study activities.

2. Setting up an Earth Day promotional display at the Earth Science Museum of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), distributing promotional materials, and showcasing the Alxa Desert Global Geopark to university and college students.

3. Collaborating with 29 other Global Geoparks, including Danxiashan UGGp in Guangdong and Yadangshan UGGp in Zhejiang, to host educational lectures on mountains within universities, focusing on the Alxa Desert Global Geopark.

4. Partnering with educational and learning organizations to promote geopark field study courses and routes.

5. Organizing participation in a specialized exhibition of geopark landscape photography, using online new media to promote the significant geosites in Alxa Desert Global Geopark across the country, showcasing the beautiful Alxa, where nature and humans coexist harmoniously.

6. Developing an online game with Earth Day-themed challenges, hosting a knowledge competition on environmental education, enhancing  public awareness.

7. Producing field study passports and exclusive stamps for nationwide promotion of the Alxa Desert learning routes.

8. Continuously playing Earth Day-themed promotional videos on large screens at various spot in city center, attracting more public participation.

9. Organizing an Earth Day-themed essay competition at Ejin Banner (town) Middle School and an educational event in Ejin Banner(town) Elementary School, featuring a large fairy tale play 'The Secret of the Desert' which involved over 60 students, parents, and teachers. The play encouraged students to observe changes in animal and surrounding ecosystems, teaching them about environmental protection and the care for small animals, promoting them as Earth's guardians.

Through these multifaceted initiatives, the Alxa Desert Global Geopark aims to effectively educate the public on Earth Day, fostering a spirit of environmental stewardship and conservation.

The promotional campaign will continue until April 28th. Among the numerous events organized by the Alxa Desert Global Geopark, the "World Earth Day Science Knowledge Quiz" has been particularly popular. Many tourists and local residents actively scanned codes to participate in the online science knowledge quiz, aiming to win Global Geopark admission tickets and exquisite cultural and creative products. The public expressed that they had learned more geological knowledge through answering questions, and were proud of their country's diverse topography. They vowed to cherish and protect the Earth and its vast landscapes through their own actions.

For many years, the Alxa Desert Global Geopark Administration has been actively promoting the dissemination of Earth science knowledge in society, using mutual promotion and joint construction as key strategies. The aim is to alert the public to climate change and advocate for low-carbon, green travel, working together to safeguard our shared planet.

Through these initiatives, the Alxa Desert Global Geopark is not only enhancing public awareness of Earth Day, but also fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of Earth's geological heritage, encouraging collective action to protect the environment.

The launch of the Earth Day promotional event was held in Badain Jaran.

A science lecture was conducted at Shaoguan University, Danxiashan, Guangdong Province, China.

A promotional display was set up at Yifu Museum, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), and promotional materials were distributed.

Global Geopark study and exploration passports were distributed to on-site visitors and stamped.

The Earth Day theme educational activities conducted at the primary and secondary schools in Ejin Banner (town)
