To continuously promote the construction of a shared platform for sister geopark cooperation, and to strictly implement the operation guidelines for UNESCO geopark , the delegation from Alxa Desert UGGp paid a visit to Danxiashan UGGp from June 1st to 2nd.

Firstly, the delegation conducted an on-site visit in Danxiashan UGGp  classic route, engaging in discussions about the key points and challenges encountered in the of revalidation mission, and gaining an in-depth understanding of Danxiashan UGGp science popularization instructors and the development of study tours.

Secondly, the two geoparks expressed their intention to jointly launch geopark study camps to continuously facilitate interaction between tourism enterprises and study tour institutions in both regions, and to actively promote the exchange of customers and market sharing.

Lastly, to further strengthen exchanges with Danxiashan UGGp administration staff, the Alxa Desert UGGp Administration dispatched two geopark managers to the Science and Technology Department of the Danxiashan UGGp Management Committee and the Danxiashan Science Popularization Study Tour Practice Center for a one-month on-the-job training. They focused on learning about science popularization education and practical science popularization study tours. They aimed to bring back the valuable experience of science popularization from Danxiashan UGGp to Alxa Desert UGGp, working together to promote the sustainable development of both geoparks.

For a long time, the Alxa Desert UGGp and the Danxiashan UGGp have maintained friendly relations and close cooperation. Particularly since they established their sister-geopark relationship in 2010, both parties have sent staff for numerous learning exchanges, discussions, participated in volunteer training camps, experienced Danxiashan UGGp's science popularization volunteer brand, and more. In 2023, they jointly initiated and hosted the "Mutual Exhibition and Interaction of Friendly Sister-geoparks" event for the 54th World Earth Day and the 4th Asia-Pacific Geopark Week promotional activities. Together, they provided high-quality science popularization services for the citizens and tourists of both regions.

UGGps represent a shared wealth and precious resource bestowed upon humanity by nature. Strengthening friendly exchanges and deepening cooperative interactions in geoparks network is one of the tasks in the development of UGGps. Looking ahead, the Alxa Desert UGGp will continue to enhance substantive exchanges and interactions with its sister-geoparks. Together, they will embark on a new chapter of profound collaboration.
