On January 25, the Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark Administration organized a professional training program to enhance wildlife monitoring and conservation capabilities with 45 staff members from the Geopark's administration branches across Alxa Left Banner, Alxa Right Banner, and Ejina Banner.
Professor Gao Runhong from Inner Mongolia Agricultural University served as the keynote trainer, delivering an in-depth lecture covering Survey methods for wild reptiles and mammals,survey techniques for wild avian species, identification of wild reptiles and mammals and recognition of wild bird species.
The training provided practical, theory-backed guidance tailored to nature reserve operations, offering valuable insights for current and future wildlife monitoring initiatives. Representatives from the Alxa Forestry and Grassland Bureau and its subordinate units also participated in this capacity-building program.
