To further strengthen collaborative initiatives, broaden science outreach, and enhance the brand influence of Alxa Desert Global Geopark, Alxa Desert Global Geopark Administration partnered with the Alxa League Camel Racing Association to host the 2024 Alxa Left Banner Camel Culture Festival in Sumutu Gacha, Bayanhot Town, on November 17.  

The event brought together over 600 participants from regions such as Subei (Gansu), Baotou, Ordos, and Bayannur, along with more than 3,200 camels, for a grand celebration of camel culture.  

To integrate the promotion of the geopark with cultural activities,  Alxa Desert Global Geopark Administration showcased its logo at the main venue, displayed banners along the racing track, and distributed science publications like Ship of the Desert, informational brochures, and a traditional Mongolian yurt for exhibitions. These efforts successfully combined geopark branding and science communication with the festival’s cultural and competitive events, offering participants and visitors an immersive experience of camel racing traditions and a unique cultural gift from Alxa.
