On the afternoon of December 31, the 5th "Run into the New Year, Dream with the Global Geopark" fitness event kicked off at Dingxiang Ecological Park in Alxa Left Banner, with over 40 running enthusiasts from the Alxa Forestry and Grassland Bureau participating.

The race featured men's and women's divisions, covering a 4-kilometer course, with awards for top finishers and participation certificates for all.Co-organized by Alxa Desert Global Geopark Administration and Alxa Forestry and Grassland Bureau, the event aimed to promote outdoor sports within the geopark, combining eco-tourism with fitness to create new adventure and study-tour routes. This initiative helps boost local tourism while encouraging a healthy, active lifestyle.

Coinciding with a children's winter running competition, the park buzzed with energy as runners of all ages welcomed 2025 with spirited strides.Beyond celebrating the new year, the run also marked a strong start for the Geopark's upcoming UNESCO revalidation. It aligns with China's national health strategy, fostering community wellness and teamwork.
