To mark the 56th World Earth Day and the 6th Asia-Pacific Geopark Week, Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark organized a series of online and offline activities. Online, we shared educational videos, posted fun clips on Douyin (TikTok), and hosted a quiz game with geology questions, local culture, and special products.
Offline events included interactive activities at kindergartens and communities in Alxa Right Banner, Alxa Left Banner, and Ejina Banner, as well as in the Tengger Desert. Themes like "Protect the Earth with Childlike Hearts", "Elderly Volunteers Promoting Green Development", and "Green Living for a Healthy Planet" made learning fun. Activities included science games, eco-themed performances, tree planting, and an environmental pledge wall. Participants received gifts like books, eco-bags, plant seeds, and car fresheners, raising awareness about nature conservation.
Next, Alxa Desert Global Geopark plans live-streamed collaborations with other Geoparks to promote geological science, eco-tourism, and sustainable development, encouraging more people to protect our planet.
