From September 7 to 9, 2019, representatives of Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark participated in the "China Geoparks Day" theme activity in Yanqing, Beijing.  The activity was sponsored by the Department of Nature Reserve Management of National Forestry and Grassland Administration.  There were more than 200 representatives of provincial (autonomous region) forestry and grassland authorities, UGGp in China, national geoparks, and research institutes gathering at the Expo to seek development of geoparks in China.

With the theme of "Green water and green mountains above the earth, green initiative at the foot of the Great Wall", the activity launched the initiative of setting up "Geoparks Day".  On the one hand, it showed the unique geological and cultural heritages of 39 UGGp and some China national geoparks to general public, on the other hand, it also conveyed the experience and achievements in the protection and conservation of geological heritage resources, the publicity of geological science popularization, management and talent team construction, etc. 

In "Geopark protection and development" forum, several reports were given by national officer, GGN and UGGp Council, illustrated the achievements, opportunities and challenges of China geoparks, etc.  Eight UGGp and two national geoparks made presentations on case analysis ,sharing experience.  The representative of ADUGGp delivered a presentation on "Transforming resource advantages into industrial advantages and better serve local economic development", exchanged and shared typical cases and management experience with the audiences, further promoted the resources and brands of ADUGGp, and continuously enhanced the popularity and influence of the ADUGGp.
