On October 30,2019, the official delegation of Saudi Arabia and the representative of Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark reached cooperation intentions. The official group of Saudi Arabia was invited to attend the 5th International Training Course on UGGps Management and Development, held in Beijing and Songshan UGGp. They were here to learn and exchange as an aspiring UGGp.
There are currently has no UGGp in Saudi Arabia, but it has rich geoheritage resources and very similar to Alxa, which all have typical scientific research and aesthetic value. The meeting of two parties was a good learning chance for Saudi Arabia and both reach a cooperation prospect.
The intention of cooperation between Alxa DUGGp and Saudi Arabia not only help Saudi Arabia as an aspiring UGGp, but also provide new ideas and open a new window for promoting Alxa UGGp. In the next step, the two sides planed to carry out extensive exchange activities on the construction and management of UGGp, scientific research and popular science, publicity and promotion, mutual sending of tourism teams, geological tourism and other fields on the basis of continuing in-depth exchanges.
