April 22nd 2019 is the 49th World Earth Day, a speech contest “The Most Beautiful Alxa-- Telling the story about my hometown in the Geopark” is grand open in Alxa Zuoqi, Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark. The contest was held by Administration for ADUGGp, The Education and Sports Bureau of Alxa Zuoqi and Younth League Committee of Alxa Zuoqi. There were over 500 audiences including judges, guests, government officials, school kids and teachers watching the contest.
The subject of the contest was “To cherish natural resources, To protect our motherland”, aims to educate the young generation about the new era slogan “Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets” and to realize the harmony between the human being and nature Especially where they were living at - Alxa, is not only their hometown but also an UNESCO Global Geopark that famous for the significant geological heritages, such as the desert, the desert lakes, Populus, and charming indigenous people and culture. To know, to respect and to protect the natural gifts. Spread and inherit the excellent traditional history and culture of Alxa and strive to be the volunteer propagandist of Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark.
